Embrace the effortless charm of pure cotton pastel orange saree elevated by a distinct tactile character. Crafted from 100% premium cotton slub yarn, this saree features subtle, natural variations in yarn thickness, creating an organic, linen-inspired texture while retaining the unmatched softness and breathability of pure cotton. Light on the skin and incredibly pliable, it offers a gentle, body-conforming drape right out of the box—no breaking in required.

Fabric Composition: 100% Pure Cotton Slub Yarn (Pure natural cotton fibers spun with intentional variable thickness).

Ornamentation:

Skilled master block printers hand-carve intricate wooden blocks and press them rhythmically onto the raw fabric. Utilizing age-old natural dye recipes derived from plant extracts, herbs, minerals, and natural mordants, this textile reflects the deep, earthy tones characteristic of authentic Bagru art.

utilizing traditional resist-inspired printing techniques that celebrate charming, organic irregularities.

The Pallu & Edges: Features a striking, contrast-woven silver zari border and metallic bands embedded seamlessly into the fabric.

Why You'll Love It

Unlike stiff, 100% pure flax fabrics that box out and resist pleating, this handloom blend offers exceptional fluid memory. It holds its pleats crisply at the waist and falls into a graceful, effortless cascade over the shoulder (pallu). It is lightweight, highly breathable, and designed to honor and accommodate the natural contours of the body.

Craft Details

Craft Description: The Art of Bagru

Bagru handblock printing is a century-old eco-friendly craft practiced primarily by the Chhipa community of Rajasthan. Unlike modern synthetic screen printing, Bagru relies strictly on wooden carved blocks (reks and dattas) and natural, non-toxic elements:

Natural Colors: Dyes are derived from natural sources such as harda (myrobalan fruit), jaggery, iron rust (syahi), and madder root (begar).

Sustainable & Earth-Conscious: The process uses no harsh chemical fixatives, allowing the fabric to remain breathable and gentle on both skin and planet.

Charming Imperfections: Small, subtle variations in dye intensity or block alignment (mottling) are not defects—they are the authentic signature of human hands at work.

Care Instructions

Finishing Your Saree: As is natural with authentic textiles, the raw ends may gently fray. To preserve the longevity of your saree, we recommend securing the edges with simple hand-stitched hem or a quick sewing machine stitch.

First Wash Treatment: Because authentic natural dyes do not rely on chemical fixatives, natural dyes bleed slightly during the first few washes. To fix and set the color naturally, soak the saree in cold water mixed with a spoonful of rock salt or alum (phitkari) for up to 2 hours before its very first wash.

Washing: Gentle hand wash in cold water using a mild, PH-neutral liquid detergent. Do not scrub, twist, or wring tightly.

Drying: Always dry flat in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Keep away from direct, harsh sunlight to prevent natural colors from fading over time.

Storage & Wearing: Saree is a layered wear garment—airing out after wear is often sufficient rather than washing after every single use. Store wrapped in soft cotton fabric.

Ironing: Steam iron or light warm iron on reverse for a smooth, crisp finish.
