Reclaiming the ancient Sanskrit term Chandataka—a traditional, unrestrictive lower-body garment—this piece is a modern homage to dynamic movement and breathable architecture.

Falling gracefully above the knee, this flared wrap completely rejects the pinching, body-shaming reality of elastic waistbands and synthetic zippers. Engineered with our signature adaptive wrap philosophy, it is fully adjustable. As your body shifts, the Chandataka shifts with you, securing flawlessly to your unique frame while allowing absolute freedom of movement for your physical layer (Annamaya Kosha).

We believe in giving you all the facts about your clothing. Because this skirt is crafted from pure, lightweight 60x60 cotton, the fabric is naturally semi sheer.

If you prefer to wear this skirt without any inner shorts, the fabric must wrap completely around your waist at least two times to provide full opacity. The total waist width of the skirt is 59 inches. This means the waist size that will accommodate a full double-wrap is approx. 30-34 inches.

The Craft: Authentic Sanganeri Handblock

This vastra is a living canvas of human rhythm and indigenous botanical science. Handcrafted in pure, feather-light 60x60 cotton, the fabric is a testament to the legendary Sanganeri block printing tradition of Rajasthan.

Every intricate floral motif and petal has been manually stamped by an artisan using hand-carved wooden blocks. This is not a soulless, machine-printed pattern; it is a textile carrying the slight, beautiful imperfections of the human hand. By utilizing pure, highly porous cotton, the fabric acts as a breathable second skin, entirely free of suffocating microplastics, transferring the pure, woven prana of the artisan directly to the wearer.

We are unable to replace laundry-damaged garments.

WASH INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDIGO CLOTHING

Your garment has been hand block printed and dip-dyed in INDIGO dye, with hand carved wood blocks.

Indigo dye will release during first wear and initial washes, it is recommended that Indigo dye clothing be prewashed before first wear.

A little care during laundering indigo will extend the life of your handmade cotton garment.

Wash by hand or by machine on gentle setting in cool water.
Wash alone or with other indigo, or blue denim.
Mild detergent is recommended.
Do not soak - no bleach.
Hang to dry or tumble dry on low/gentle setting.
Please turn your garment inside out if you hang your laundry in sunlight.
Quick drying, great for travel clothes!
Iron at medium temperature with or without steam.
You could alternatively use a clothing steamer.
Or for no pressing at all, hang to dry on a rust-proof clothes hanger and gently shape the hem and neckline with your hands while still damp.
Indigo dip fabric will start to fade with prolonged sun exposure, such as if left out in a very bright room

 Before your product is shipped off, you are welcome to make alterations to your order as you see fit.  

We do rigorous quality controls before shipping out our merchandise. But if you encounter a faulty product, contact us so we can initiate the returns procedure.

Conditions for Exchanges: 

•  The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with tags attached.   

•  Proof of purchase, such as the original receipt or order confirmation, is required for all exchanges.
